My Story.
I started my 3L year of law school with no immediate job prospects and over $200,000 of student debt. After receiving mediocre 1L grades I struck out at OCI and spent nearly every waking hour of my 2L year in the library trying to pull up my GPA. By the time I started my final year of law school my grades were respectable enough to begin applying to jobs. The problem was that I had no idea how to go about it. The career services office was not very helpful and I was living in the Midwest, which meant networking events in my target market were out of the question. I needed a way to systematically apply to hundreds of jobs over the course of my 3L year, which is how I ended up creating—along with my wife—what today I call The Complete Guide to Landing a Job Out of Law SchooI. After getting an offer at a V20 firm I taught the framework to a small group of others in my class year. All of them also ended up getting jobs at top law firms. Over the years I’ve taught the framework to many others and began to notice that whenever somebody found a job using it I felt a personal sense of accomplishment. I realized that I was personally invested in the people I was helping so that their success became my success.
I am now making the framework available online for anyone who needs help finding a law firm job but doesn’t know where to start. I’ve spent many hours putting this guide together and I hope this framework helps you as much as it helped me.
